I have been struggling for hours to disable the Google Apps Device Policy message on my phone, despite turning off mobile management in my Google Apps account.
I finally figured it out, and although it’s a simple fix, it’s largely undocumented and not necessarily obvious.
It needs administrator access to the Google Apps console at: https://admin.google.com/ so if you’re not the administer, you’ll need to
forward this info on.
Once logged into https://admin.google.com/ navigate to Device Management -> Setup -> Setup and from there:
- check “Allow sync” in all sections
- uncheck “Manage Devices” in all sections
And that’s that. This should allow your account to sync without problem, while stopping the “Google Apps Device Policy” message from popping up all the time.
